Kevin De Bruyne ruthlessly shoved Mikel Arteta on touchline during heated altercation in Arsenal vs Man City

"[Mikel] Arteta has had that coming to him all season, TBF." Fans feel Man City star Kevin De Bruyne was in the right on this occasion.

Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne lashed out at Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta on the touchline after he prevented him from getting the ball.

De Bruyne fired City into the lead in the first half after he pounced on a Takehiro Tomiyasu howler and lobbed an onrushing Aaron Ramsdale.

However, Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka cancelled out De Bruyne’s opener before half-time from the spot-kick after a controversial penalty call from the referee.

The tension escalated in the second half at the Emirates after City star De Bruyne lost his cool with Arteta when the ball went out of play.

Arteta appeared to stop De Bruyne from gathering the ball quickly for a throw-in, which prompted the Belgium international to shove him while on the touchline.

“Arteta has had that coming to him all season, TBF,” one fan said in response to the incident.

Another posted: “Arteta started it by kicking the ball away when De Bruyne went to get it. So childish and a poor example.”

“Why did Arteta do that, though? Kevin De Bruyne was so right to push him, TBH,” a third Twitter user wrote.

And a fourth said: “Well done, De Bruyne. He was right to push Arteta [out] of the way.”

While one fan tweeted: “A bit surprised at De Bruyne shoving Arteta… but it also shows how much this means to them.”

Jack Grealish restored City’s advantage after a sloppy Gabriel pass allowed Erling Haaland to find Ilkay Gundogan out on his right.

Gundogan then picked out Grealish, whose low effort took a deflection off Tomiyasu before landing in the back of Ramsdale’s net.
