Kevin De Bruyne scored a stunning free-kick to open the scoring for Manchester City against Leicester City.

De Bruyne lit up the first-half as he produced a stunning, reverse pass to Bernardo Silva.

But he went one better in the second-half, converting an outrageous free-kick to hand his team the lead at the King Power Stadium.

Four minutes after the break, the visitors were awarded a free-kick - with Man City's Belgium star firing a wonderful strike into the back of the net.

Fans hailed De Bruyne as a Premier League great following his goal against Leicester.

One Twitter user wrote: "Seriously one of the best Prem midfielders ever."

A second tweeted: "The best midfielder the premier league has ever seen."

A third added: "Some player, the quality he brings season after season is unreal."

Another commented: "He is on a completely different level."

Speaking after the game, De Bruyne said: "We made it a little bit difficult. I think we were tired. They [Leicester] were negative for 70 minutes but then it changed.

"We still could have scored the second. In the end it was a good victory.

"We always have to be better. I've been doing fairly good but some games better than others... We created enough. It's tough against a team who play 11 behind the ball. We have proven we can win without and without."

De Bruyne's free-kick proved enough to earn all three points as the Blues move about Arsenal to the top of the league.

Man City have 29 points on the board, one point ahead of Arsenal who return to action on Sunday against Nottingham Forest.
