Liverpool 'offer Bellingham's father role' to convince midfielder to join and 'also want to sign his brother'

Liverpool 'offer Bellingham's father role' to convince midfielder to join and 'also want to sign his brother'

Liverpool are reportedly set to offer Jude Bellingham's father a role as the club continues talks over a transfer.

Liverpool are reportedly planning to offer Jude Bellingham's father a role at the club to convince the Borussia Dortmund star to move to Anfield.

The 19-year-old midfielder has long been the subject of interest from major European clubs, including Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Among the huge volume of updates regarding a potential transfer from Dortmund came a potentially significant report from The Sun last week, who claimed that the German giants wanted £100 million up front to sell Bellingham.

Furthermore, Real boss Carlo Ancelotti explained (via Goal) that he has happy with his current midfield options when asked about potentially signing the England star.

Liverpool's midfield problems, meanwhile, have the subject of sharp focus this season, with the Reds only signing one permanent central midfielder - Thiago Alcantara - in four-and-a-half years.

The club was criticised by Reds legend Jamie Carragher following their 3-1 defeat to Brentford earlier this month for not being more proactive in improving the midfield.

And fellow Reds icon Graeme Souness wrote in his Daily Mail column that boss Jurgen Klopp should seriously consider whether or not to continue including four midfielders in his starting XI, including Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

Now, a new report from Spain has claimed that Liverpool have come up with another Bellingham plan.

Liverpool 'offer Bellingham's father scouting role'

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, Liverpool are planning to offer Jude Bellingham's father, Mark Bellingham, either a coaching or scouting role at Anfield to convince the Dortmund star to join.

The report also claims the Reds are interested in signing the player's brother, Jobe, who is currently on the books at Birmingham City.

Much like his sibling, Jobe made his Championship debut at the age of just 16 years old for the Blues, and has been a regular fixture in the matchday squad this season under John Eustace.

It was previously claimed by transfer journalist Ben Jacobs to GiveMeSport that Liverpool would likely be the 'top choice' of Bellingham's father.

Talks will no doubt continue, with Liverpool supporters desperately hoping there will be a positive outcome for their club.
