Jose Mourinho gave one of the best post-match interviews of his legendary managerial career following AS Roma's win over Bayer Leverkusen.

Roma beat Leverkusen 1-0 in their semi-final first leg tie on Thursday as Edoardo Bove scored the only goal of the game just after the hour mark.

The Serie A outfit will take a lead into next week's second leg as Mourinho eyes another Europa League title, having won the trophy during his Manchester United spell.

But he recognises it's just 'half-time' in the tie as he brilliantly shut down a reporter and refused his congratulations.

Speaking after the result, a reporter congratulated Mourinho, who responded by delivering one of his coldest interviews ever.

"I don't accept your congrats because it's just half-time," he said. "I never celebrate at half-time. I never cry at half-time when I'm losing.

"And I don't like congrats because I'm winning at half-time."

Mourinho's interview went down among people on social media as they hailed the Portuguese as one of the best speakers in football.

One Twitter user wrote: "And that is why José Mourinho is the most consistently effective knock-out manager of all time."

A second tweeted: "One of the most incredible speakers I have ever seen. He always makes sense and has straightforward points."

A third added: "It's the stare after the congrats."

A Chelsea fan commented: "Said it a million times, why are we trying to hire donkeys when this man would come to us, just don’t understand it."

Another said: "Scratch that... He’s simply the best when he means business."

The 60-year-old has a way with words, with fans loving his latest remark about his club.

He's no stranger to winning European competitions as he looks to win another with Roma.

Will he guide them to Europa League glory? Let us know.
