Jadon Sancho may have skipped watching England's 3-3 draw with Germany to play FIFA 23.

The Manchester United winger was once again left out of Gareth Southgate's squad for this month's internationals and his last appearance was in October 2021.

Sancho has started this season in fine form, scoring three goals in six games for United, but it wasn't enough for a call-up.

Around the time his teammates will have been kicking off at Wembley, Sancho posted an image of his TV screen with FIFA 23 on it.

The latest edition of EA Sports' popular franchise launched on Tuesday for those who purchased the Ultimate Edition. Sancho was lucky enough to get it a day earlier than that.

Fans were quick to notice what time Sancho was playing the game and joked he did it to avoid watching Southgate's side play.

One person said: "Sancho playing FIFA 23 when his country is playing, in tears at this."

Another tweeted: "Sancho would rather play FIFA than watch England play lmao."

While someone put: "Sancho playing FIFA 23 instead of watching Southgate ball."

England signed off from Nations League Group C with an encouraging performance following Friday's drab 1-0 defeat to Italy.

Ilkay Gundogan and Kai Havertz gave Hansi Flick's side a 2-0 lead midway through the second half, but England responded with three goals in 12 minutes.

Luke Shaw volleyed home to half the deficit before Mason Mount equalised with a lovely effort.

Harry Kane converted a penalty after Jude Bellingham was hauled down in the penalty area to send the home crowd wild.

England weren't able to hold on however as Havertz grabbed his second of the game three minutes from time to ensure the points were shared.

The Three Lions are on their longest winless run since 1993 but Southgate is optimistic heading into this winter's World Cup in Qatar.

"It has been a tough period and they have grown," the 52-year-old told reporters post-match.

"You will always face pressure and at some point you have to be exposed. We played a friendly against Ivory Coast in March and they went to 10 men and it became a non-event and we learnt nothing, this week we have learned a huge amount.

"As a group they have come together and they will benefit in the long run."
