Ivan Toney named former Spurs pair Jermain Defoe and Dimitar Berbatov when he was asked to give his top three strikers of all time.

The 27-year-old England international, who has been suspended from all football-related activity for eight months and fined £50,000 for breaching The FA’s Betting Rules, recently appeared on the YouTube channel Kick Game.

Here, the Brentford forward opened up on Brentford's impressive Premier League campaign, his thoughts on the eight month suspension and Virgil van Dijk being the hardest defender he’s faced in England's top flight.

He was also asked by presenter Craig Mitch to name his top three strikers ever.

Toney responded: “Jermain Defoe. Half a yard, shoot on goal, nine times out 10 it’s a goal. He’s one."

He added: "Berbatov. I like Berbatov. His first touch was the best touch I’ve ever seen.”

Spurs fan Mitch was delighted with his answers. In fact, he asked Toney if he was a Tottenham supporter before jokingly asking the striker to join Ange Postecoglou's side.

“You’re picking all my Spurs guys man, I’m loving this,” Mitch said. “Are you basically saying you’ll come Spurs?”

Toney proceeded to praise one of his England teammates, saying: “They have got one of the best strikers [Kane] already."

“Are you going to pick Robbie Keane next?" Mitch asked. "I don’t know what’s going on here, you might as well just say Harry Kane.”

Toney responded: “To be fair, Harry Kane would be up there, he scores goals. But I’d say Sergio Aguero.”

In the 20-minute video, Toney criticised the FA after he being handed an eight month ban for breaching betting rules.

“In a way it’s like get it out now so you don’t go England and then all of a sudden they want to wait until the end of the season to do the kind of things but listen it is what it is," he said.

“If they want to do it that way, I call it a bit spiteful but it is what it is and you just have to get on with it.

“The biggest punishment, even though I miss eight months of football, that was the biggest punishment to miss out on a World Cup — everyone’s dream — it is bigger than missing eight months of football. I believe in myself and hopefully I will be at the next one.”
