YouTube sensation IShowSpeed met Portuguese football legend Rui Costa but mistook him for the President of Portugal.

On Saturday night, Portugal were in action against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Euro 2024 qualifying round.

A brace from Bruno Fernandes plus a goal from Bernardo Silva sealed a 3-0 win.

However, YouTuber IShowSpeed went viral after his bizarre interaction with Costa, you can watch the footage below.

The American was heard saying to Costa: “President, president, president I love you.

“I love you, can I take a picture with you? I love you sir. Can I get citizenship? Can I get a hug?”

During his career, Costa played for the likes of Benfica, Fafe, Fiorentina and AC Milan. In total he made 684 appearances, scoring 97 goals.

For Portugal, the midfielder played 94 matches and scored 26 times.

Now, he is the president of his boyhood club, Benfica.

On the same night, IShowSpeed finally met his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo.

He said: “Oh my god Ronaldo. Take a picture, take a picture, I love you bro.”

New Portugal boss Roberto Martinez praised Ronaldo after the match.

He said: “Ronaldo's commitment is exemplary. It is easy to generate debate and say that he is not in the best shape, but the truth is that he is an example of how he is always available to the national team.

“He is a unique player with 199 caps. Very important for the resort's values

“His attitude was perfect, without the ball, always working, following the team's plan. I am very satisfied. The pass to Diogo Jota was an example of a player who wants the best for the team.”

On his decision to move to Saudi Arabia, Martinez added: “Playing in a non-European club is sometimes an advantage when playing in the national team. We have three ways of analysing a player: individual quality, experience and commitment.

“Cristiano's commitment is complete. He is an example for the locker room, an example for Portuguese and world football.”
