Ilkay Gundogan produced a moment of magic as he opened the scoring against Everton in sensational fashion.

The Manchester City star showed his class as he broke the deadlock with an outrageous goal that included controlling the ball with his thigh.

RIyad Mahrez whipped the ball into the box, with the German midfielder impeccably controlling the ball with his thigh.

After his brilliant first touch, Gundogan flicked the ball into the back of the net to make it 1-0.

WHAT A GOAL! 🤯🤯🤯

Gundogan's amazing goal got fans online talking, including Jamie Carragher who hailed the goal on Twitter.

The Liverpool legend wrote: "Wow! What a goal from Gundogan!"

A second tweeted: "Outrageous. Purely sensational to even attempt it."

A third claimed: "Goal of the season that."

A fourth added: "Genius improvisation."

Another said: "The composure you’ve got to have to pull this off inside the box is insane."

Speaking in the studio at half-time, Roy Keane joked: "That second touch.. I'm feeling my hip just looking at it!"

The Man City captain then turned provider as he delivered a glorious ball to Erling Haaland, who headed home to double his side's lead.

That's Haaland's 36th league goal of the season as he continues to enjoy an ultra-prolific term in his debut campaign in England.

Man City's 2-0 lead will come as a huge blow to Everton, who had great periods in the game, but failed to capitalise on their good spells.

It also shows Man City's ruthlessness as they weren't having it all their way before Gundogan's spectacular goal.
