England's Harry Maguire was the subject of some hilarious heckling by a passionate United States fan at the Al Bayt Stadium.

Harry Maguire was the subject of constant hilarious heckling in England's 0-0 draw with the United States.

Gareth Southgate's side did not get going in their second Group B clash and played out a stalemate at the Al Bayt Stadium.

It was a very uneventful game, with not much to write home about. But one of the most entertaining elements of the match was Maguire being met with persistent insults from a US fan in the stands.

On a number of occasions in the first half, an American accent could be heard screaming abuse at Manchester United's captain.

He must have been sat right near a pitchside microphone because the ITV 1 feed picked him up near enough time.

“Harry f***ing Maguire! You suck!” was his first yell, before he then told the former Leicester City man to "score another own goal".

And the final shout to complete the sheer comedy trash talk was "Why is your head so big?".

Fans were left in stitches by the antics of the passionate American. One fan wrote, "Hahahaha that American you could hear goes Harry Maguire you suck."

Another said: "'Yeah, why don’t you score an own goal?!" American match banter at full force."

A third wrote: "Am I thenn by only one who heard that American fan saying harry maguire you suck."

A fourth commented: "Who else just heard that American shout 'Harry Maguire, you suckkk'".

Maguire, who suffered from blurred vision in the 6-2 win over Iran, was actually one of England's top performers in a drab display.

He turned into Lionel Messi in one sequence in the first half, dribbling past two players - including making captain Tyler Adams look like a fool with a lovely bit of skill.

The centre-back was also dominant aerially and snuffed out plenty of opposition attacks.

Despite the frustration, England are in control of Group B with four points from their first two games. If they avoid a four goal defeat to Wales on Tuesday, Gareth Southgate's men will progress to the knockout stages.
