The 'one condition' that will see Harry Kane join Manchester United this summer

The 'one condition' that will see Harry Kane join Manchester United this summer

Harry Kane has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

Harry Kane could join Manchester United this summer on one condition, sensationally claims Danny Murphy.

Kane has scored an incredible 273 goals for Tottenham, having spent his entire career at the club - other than four loan spells.

But he has no trophies to show for all his goals as he still awaits the first piece of silverware of his career.

The 29-year-old is contracted until June 2024, with his future under intense transfer speculation amid Man United links.

Spurs currently occupy fifth spot and Murphy believes Kane will call time on his career at the club if they miss out on Champions League football.

Man United, on the other hand, look well-placed to secure a spot in the top four, with Erik ten Hag thought to be keen on snapping up a forward when the summer transfer window opens.

Murphy reckons a move to Old Trafford could transpire if Spurs miss out on Champions League qualification.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand's podcast, he said: "I got asked about Harry Kane’s future a couple of weeks ago and at that point I thought he would stay at Tottenham. That’s what I thought.

"But now Antonio Conte has gone, the team are falling off, the fans aren’t happy, the squad looks unhappy and they probably won’t be in the Champions League next season."

The former Liverpool midfielder added: "I don’t think they will be in the Champions League anyway. I think that will be enough for Harry Kane. If Tottenham don’t get the Champions League, I think he will go to Man United."

Ten Hag is after a new No.9 following the controversial departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, who gave a bombshell interview about the club.

As a result, the Dutch boss acquired fellow countryman Wout Weghorst on loan in January, but he's only scored two goals in all competitions.

Kane isn't the only forward believed to be on Man United's transfer shortlist, with Victor Osimhen and Goncalo Ramos also on their radar.
