Joan Laporta made a ruthless joke about Bernardo Silva to Pep Guardiola during the press conference to announce Barcelona vs. Manchester City.

The Spanish giants will welcome the Premier League champions to the Camp Nou for a charity match on August 24.

It will be a game to raise funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) awareness and is in honour of former Barca player and coach Juan Carlos Unzu.

A press conference was held on Monday to officially announce the fixture, with Laporta aiming a joke about Barca's reported No.1 summer transfer target Silva.

Guardiola said: "We will bring all our top players to Barcelona for Unzue's ALC charity match at Camp Nou."

Laporta replied: "Bernardo Silva?"

Guardiola laughed as he hit back: "Bernardo Silva... and 10 more."

On the future of Silva, Guardiola added: "As of today, I think Bernardo will continue at Man City next season - but as I always said, I don’t like to keep players that are unhappy.

"This is our intention, although I don’t like to keep players at Man City that are unhappy."

Barca are eyeing Silva as a replacement for Frenkie de Jong if he joins Manchester United this summer.

Silva, who was linked with a move away from Man City last summer, enjoyed a brilliant campaign last season as he scored 13 goals in all competitions - helping his side win the Premier League.

He's reportedly informed the Blues of his desire to leave and has his heart set on a move to Barca.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed five trophy-laden seasons at the Etihad since his switch from AS Monaco in 2017.

He's won four Premier League titles, four EFL Cups and the FA Cup during his time at the club.

But is he set to call time on his Man City career? Watch this space.
