With Sadio Mane’s future up in the air, the Liverpool forward has been centre stage in world football transfer news these last few weeks. After Bayern Munich’s £30 million bid was rejected by the Reds, Garry Lineker has shared his thoughts on Mane’ future.

Amid confusion about where Mane will eventually end up playing football next season, former footballer, now pundit believes it is “unlikely” that the Senegalsese front man will stay at Anfield next season.

Sadio Mane first stepped foot onto Anfield’s sacred pitch in 2016 and has earned huge respect from fans across the globe for his phenomenal performances across six successful years. But all good things must come to an end and finally after lifting six trophies with the club, Mane has decided he wants to take on a new challenge elsewhere.

This season has been no less successful for the Senegalse international who as always was an integral part of Liverpool's squad this season, winning both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup. Mane also bagged himself 16 goals in 34 appearances in the Premier League this season, with his team narrowly missing out on winning the title. After helping his side win some of the most prestigious, coveted trophies over his years with the club, Mane now looks likely to join the Bundesliga.

The former England international, Gary Lineker has commented that he thinks “it’s very unlikely Mane will stay now, it seems to be a matter of time before he goes to Bayern Munich. If they can agree on a fee , that's what will happen”. It is also reported by the Liverpool Echo that Lineker has a lot of faith in Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool’s Manager) and the great amount he has managed to achieve with the club. Going on to say that he will back Klopp in whatever decision he makes, knowing he will be able to carry on the club's success.
