Peter Crouch Had The Perfect Response To Breaking A Premier League Record

Congratulations!

Peter Crouch may be becoming better known for his exploits on social media rather than his efforts on the pitch in the twilight stage of his career, but last night the Stoke City striker married his two passions to perfection after breaking a Premier League record.

The England international came off the bench during the Potters' 2-2 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion, last night, earning him the distinction of being the player who has made more appearances from the bench than any other player in the history of the English top flight.

But it wasn't a record that the former Tottenham and Portsmouth striker was particularly proud of, as his subsequent reaction on social media attested.

In total, Crouch has made 439 Premier League appearances, scoring 106 times and registering 56 assists during his spells with Stoke, Spurs, Portsmouth, Liverpool, Southampton and Aston Villa.

The record is the second one Crouch has broken this season, having also become the player with the most headed goals in Premier League history, with 51 headed efforts.

At 36 years of age, there are many who believe this season could be Crouch's last before he retires, although if there's any more records to break, we could see him continue on for a while longer, yet.
