Ryan Giggs Just Told The Dullest Story In TV Punditry History

Ryan Giggs Just Told The Dullest Story In TV Punditry History

The former Manchester United winger is analysing the World Cup for ITV this summer but things aren't exactly off to an interesting start.

TV pundits find themselves under a slightly harsh amount of criticism at times but on this occasion Ryan Giggs certainly deserves it after the most boring story known to humankind.

The problem for TV pundits is despite the fact that the world judges footballers for not being that intelligent we expect them to come out with interesting footballing gold every time they open their mouths.

Sure they should be able to offer some decent insight most of the time but every now and again they're likely to say something a bit dumb, obvious or downright dull.

Yesterday ITV decided to focus on a referee decision that the man on the pitch clearly got right, how are pundits supposed to create good debate over that?

But when Ryan Giggs started telling a story ahead of the Morocco vs Iran game of his own accord you were expecting gold from the Manchester United legend.

Giggs was talking about Iran boss Carlos Queiroz and the first time he coached at United. The Wales manager claimed the two didn't get off to the best of starts, oooh intrigue.

Instead of interesting though it seems that the then United assistant manager called the player 'Giggs' as he told him to do something which apparently led to giggles from his teammates and 'Giggs' telling Queiroz it was either 'Giggsy' or 'Ryan' but not 'Giggs.' Wow!

There certainly wasn't any giggling going on in the studio after that boring anecdote.

You have to hope that when he's in the changing room giving Wales' players their pre match and half-time team talks he's a bit more interesting than that.

Sorry Giggsy but we want insight not insomnia remedies.
