Edinson Cavani was one of four people who Zlatan Ibrahimovic "hated", according to a former teammate.

Ibrahimovic and Cavani arrived at PSG a year apart, both coming from Serie A in 2012 and 2013 respectively as the club's new Qatari owners looked to make a huge splash in European football.

They played 107 times together, winning three Ligue One titles in a row and other domestic trophies as PSG dominated French football.

But according to Michael Ciani, who played with Ibrahimovic at LA Galaxy in the MLS, the Swedish superstar did not like Cavani, who was one of four people in his career that he hated.

"He told me that everything was fine with [then-manager] Laurent Blanc at PSG," Ciani told RMC Sport in 2020.

"The only person he did not get along with was Cavani.

"He told me that he only hated three or four people in his career… and one of them was Cavani.

"If you are close to Cavani, Ibra does not like it. Either you are with Ibra, or you are against him."

Both Cavani and Ibrahimovic scored over 100 goals for PSG , with the Uruguayan actually beating Ibrahimovic's goalscoring record in Paris, finishing with 200 goals in 301 games.

Kylian Mbappe would go on to set a new record, finishing up with a whopping 256 goals in 308 games before moving to Real Madrid ion a free transfer in 2024.

Coincidentally, both Ibrahimovic and Cavani would end up making the same next move in their career at different stages.

Ibrahimovic joined Manchester United on a free transfer after leaving PSG in 2016 and Cavani would do the same four years later.

Later on Cavani did have some difficulty with Neymar, with the two having disagreements over penalties during their time as teammates.

Ibrahimovic did once have an issue with Ashley Cole when the two had were at LA Galaxy, though the former Arsenal and Chelsea defender hit back

He tried to once, he did throw his hands in the air,” Cole recalled on an episode of A League of their Own on Sky.

“And I said 'Put your f***ing hands down', I'm deadly serious, honestly. I was thinking 'you might have a little point, but don't put your hands up’.”
