Zinedine Zidane has been labeled as a shoo-in to make his return to management for one of the two jobs he is willing to accept.

Back in May 2021, football legend Zidane left La Liga giants Real Madrid for a second time in his career as a manager after they failed to win a trophy in the 2020/21 season.

Previously, the former club legend won three consecutive Champions League titles and a La Liga title in his first spell as manager and added a second La Liga title during his return less than a year after he left.

Since departing Madrid for the second time nearly four years ago, Zidane has yet to return to the dugout, but that could change in the near future as he's been labelled as a 'shoo-in' for one of his dream jobs.

On Thursday night, France will take on Croatia in the first leg of their Nations League quarter-final, and it is widely viewed that the match that will mark the beginning of the end of Didier Deschamps' times as manager of Les Blues.

The former midfielder has led his nation as a manager for an incredible 13 years, seeing them lift the 2018 World Cup and 2020/21 Nations League, but will leave the role after the end of the 2026 World Cup in North America.

With Deschamps set to walk away from the France job in just over a year, many have speculated that Zidane may make his triumphant return to the dugout to manage his nation for the foreseeable future.

In fact, a report from The Guardian is so sure that Zidane will replace Deschamps, that they've labelled him as a 'shoo-in' to become France manager, largely due to the fact that there is a lack of French managers currently working across the top European leagues.

Should he be offered the job, then it is highly likely that the 52-year-old would accept after it was previously reported that becoming manager of his country is one of only two jobs that Zidane would accept, despite interest from several of the biggest clubs in the world.

As reported by Spanish news outlet Marca, Zidane would only return to management if offered the chance to lead France or make another triumphant return to the Bernabeu.

The report stated: "Has Zidane left the bench?

"The answer is no, but he has very clear ideas. And they are based on just two projects: Real Madrid and the French national team."
