Turkish players clashed with their Czech opponents after knocking them out of Euro 2024.

The final group stage match of the 2024 European Championships took place on Wednesday night, as Turkey defeated Czechia 2-1.

A 94th minute winner from Cenk Tosun sealed Turkey's place in the round of 16 where they will face Group D winners Austria.

The victory put Turkey in second place of Group F, behind Portugal.

However, Turkish celebrations were halted as, moments after the final whistle, a fight broke out between their players and some of the Czech team.

The brawl led to a red card for Czechia's Tomas Chory and yellow cards for Czech captain Tomas Soucek and Turkish superstar Arda Guler.

With 14 other yellow cards and another red card shown during the fixture, it broke the record for the most cards in a single game in UEFA European Championship history (18).

Heading into the game, Czechia needed a win in order to make it to the knockout stage.

And, despite equalising in the 66th minute, the result means that they finished bottom of Group F with just one point.

If Turkey can continue to surpass expectations, they could meet England in the tournament with both sides on the same side of the knockout bracket.

But, to do so both Turkey and England will need to reach the finals, beating other teams around them such as The Netherlands, Italy and Switzerland.

In Wednesday's other group F fixture, Georgia, the lowest ranked team in the tournament, produced a massive 2-0 upset victory over Portugal to make it out of the group.

But they face another difficult task in the round of 16, as they face Spain, the only side to win all three of their group stage matches, in the round of 16.
