Thierry Henry was violated by Dora the Explorer during CBS’ Champions League final coverage on Saturday evening.

Real Madrid claimed a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley to win a record-extending 15th Champions League, with goals coming courtesy of Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr.

As has become customary in the Champions League this term, CBS’s coverage, led by Kate Abdo and featuring Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards, was the source of several viral clips during the final.

CBS’s coverage of sports events occasionally features Nickelodeon characters appearing on the broadcast to offer explainers of various rules during the game.

Indeed, Dora the Explorer, who is among several of Paramount’s characters and properties to occasionally make appearances for sports events, made a brief appearance in the Champions League final coverage.

And the character used her small section of airtime to mock Arsenal icon Henry. On the follically-challenged Frenchman, Dora the Explorer said: “Let's move on from hair, like Thierry Henry has”.

The comment led to rapturous laughter from Henry’s fellow pundits in the CBS studio.

Meanwhile, fans on social media were quick to respond to the comments.

One person said: “Back in my day, Dora taught kids to be polite and respect their elders. This is Swiper behaviour.”

A second joked: “She’s never even played the professional game, what gives her the right to voice her opinion? Wait until Joey Barton sees this!”

A third added: “Whaaaaaaaaat the violation.”

A fourth person, who from their social media profile appears to be a Liverpool fan, said: “Can’t believe I’m stuck listening to Rio Ferdinand while America gets this. Smh.”

A fifth joked: “Getting violated by Dora the Explorer is CRAZY,” while a final person added: “Finally, confirmation that Thierry Henry exists in the Dora the Explorer universe canon. Thank God. I have grappled with that unanswered question for my entire life.”
