Kate Scott Leaves Thierry Henry Stunned With Comments During Scott McTominay Interview

The CBS Sports presenter made the comments during the outlet's coverage of the Champions League.

Kate Scott shocked the CBS Sports panel with a surprise comment during a recent interview with Scott McTominay, which provoked an interesting reaction from Thierry Henry when it was played on Tuesday’s show.

As usual, on Tuesday (January 20), the CBS Sports panel – made up of Henry, Scott, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards – provided coverage of game week 7 of the Champions League as Manchester City fell to a shock 3-1 defeat away at Bodo/Glimt before Arsenal beat Inter 3-1 in the San Siro to ensure they will finish top of the 36-team league phase with a game to spare.

Champions League holders Paris-Saint Germain lost 2-1 against Sporting CP in Lisbon, and Real Madrid put six past Monaco in Alvaro Arbeloa’s first European game as head coach, as they ran out 6-1 winners at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Meanwhile, the under pressure Thomas Frank saw his Spurs side defeat Dortmund 2-0, putting the north London club in a strong position to gain automatic qualification for the round of 16.

And as ever, CBS Sports’ coverage entertained fans with an interview with former Manchester United and current Napoli midfielder McTominay, a talking point among the panel.

In a chat with Scott, the Scotland international explained how he still has “so much love” for United and admitted that he still wants his former teammates “to do well”.

But Scott’s response provoked a hilarious response from the CBS panel.

“I feel like I’d be different if I left the Champions League show, I would hope that the show is a lesser show without me,” she joked.

“I would want to feel that, it’s like a validation thing.”

After the clip was played on Tuesday’s show, Carragher, Henry and Richards had their say with the Frenchman pretending to be shocked before Scott said: “I’m only joking… I didn’t mean it.”

Carragher then asked whether the presenter had plans to leave the show for another job, as Richards mentioned her new gig hosting UFC events as part of the promotion’s new broadcasting deal with CBS and Paramount+.

Scott will provide coverage of UFC 324, alongside Michael Bisping, Dominick Cruz, and Chris Weidman, on Sunday (January 24), with Paddy Pimblett set to take on Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title. The presenter will remain part of the channel's Champions League coverage.
