IShowSpeed finally had to the chance to meet one of the greatest footballers of all-time in Lionel Messi at the Club World Cup.

The YouTube sensation who boasts over 40m subscribers on the platform is known for being one of the biggest Cristiano Ronaldo fans on the planet.

Speed regularly labels the former Real Madrid man as the greatest to ever play the game and will celebrate using his iconic ‘Siu’ at any chance he gets.

The teenager went as far as booing Messi when he had the chance to watch Inter Miami face Al Nassr, a game which Ronaldo was unable to attend.

Speed finally had the chance to come face-to-face with the Argentinean as the Club World Cup kicked off with a 0-0 draw between Inter Miami and Al Ahly but did not expect to get the reaction he received.

Situated in the tunnel after the game, Speed was waiting as Messi and Luis Suarez shook hands with ex-La Liga rival Pepe before the YouTuber realised who he was in the presence of.

But after trying to get his attention, Messi completely blanked him and made his way back to the dressing room.

“Was that just Messi?” he asked his live stream viewers. “Bro. No way I just missed Messi. Ain’t no way.

“There’s no way that was him. You’re lying. It wasn’t him.”

After being sent the footage from the encounter, Speed finally realised how close he came to meeting the football icon with his viewers suggesting he was ‘scared’ given his tribal support of Ronaldo.

He added on his stream: “I was just dumb close to Messi. He walked right past me! I didn’t freeze! On god I wasn’t scared chat.”

Speed continued to watch the footage back before being joined by Sergio Aguero and attempted to convince the ex-Man City man to set up another meeting with his former teammate.

When asked if he could facilitate a ‘link up’, Aguero replied: “You are a very big fan of Cristiano no?”

The ex-Barcelona man couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at the Al Nassr star by asking Speed whether he was playing at the tournament, adding he’s probably watching at home.

Messi’s Miami had goalkeeper Oscar Ustari to thank for keeping them in the game during the first game of the tournament, making a string of saves including one from the penalty spot.

Messi came closest to breaking the deadlock for the MLS side but was unable to guide his team to victory in arguably their easiest group fixture.

They face Portuguese side Porto in their next game on Thursday before taking on Brazilian side Palmeiras.
