A Premier League legend has jokingly 'offered' himself to Wrexham ahead of the new season - though it is sadly a few years too late for Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney to make an offer.
The Red Dragons are preparing for life in the Championship next season after three consecutive promotions, starting from the National League.
Phil Parkinson's side are yet to complete a permanent signing, although have been linked with moves for players with vast Premier League experience such as Ben Davies - who has since signed a one-year extension with Tottenham - and Tom Cairney.

They are also in the market for a new striker after Steven Fletcher was released from the club.
Were this 2005 rather than 2025, they might have had one eye on the Premier League's greatest ever goalscorer, who was about to enter his final season as a professional footballer - although trying to get a then 34-year-old, who had just scored 19 goals in all competitions in the previous campaign, out of the top flight would have certainly been a challenge.
As it is, Alan Shearer is a few years beyond a comeback alongside his punditry duties.

Taking to Instagram, the 54-year-old shared a photo of himself alongside fellow Newcastle icon Rob Lee, and Lee's son and current Wrexham attacking midfielder Elliot Lee.
He captioned the post: "What you reckon @vancityreynolds, Wrexham front three next season?!"
Wrexham fans got involved in the comments, with one writing: "You'd still get 20 goals Al."

A second added: "Can you imagine you three rocking up for pre-season haha."
A third tagged Rob McElhenney before writing: "Don't want to miss this offer."
And a fourth joked: "Ryan and Rob will just have gone into meltdown!"
When it comes to actual transfers, Wrexham have thus far largely been linked with adding midfielders to their squad.

Their latest link arrived earlier this week in the form of Blackburn captain Lewis Travis, who has spent his entire career at Ewood Park.
The Lancashire Telegraph report that Wrexham have showed interest in the 27-year-old, who has one year left on his contract.
Travis has been an almost ever-present for Blackburn for the past six seasons when fully fit, except for the second half of the 2023/24 campaign when he had a row with manager Jon Dahl Tomasson and was sent out on loan to Ipswich.
The tough-tackling midfielder made nine appearances for the Tractor Boys in helping them to earn promotion to the Premier League.
