Ronaldo Nazario weighed in on the GOAT debate as he named the top five players that he enjoys watching.

Brazil legend Ronaldo hailed Lionel Messi as the 'number one' and ruthlessly snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo in his top five players that he likes watching.

Messi has enjoyed a legendary career with both club and country. He's won four Champions League titles with Barcelona and inspired Argentina to World Cup glory in 2022.

Ronaldo claimed it will take '20 or 30 years' before the world witnesses a similar player to Messi.

Speaking in 2020, he told AS: "Messi, of course, he is number one, it is a talent that we will take 20 or 30 years to see something similar."

Messi aside, Ronaldo also likes watching Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, Eden Hazard, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

"I also like Salah, Hazard, Neymar, that I love watching him play, of course Mbappe," he added.

At the time, Hazard was at Real Madrid following his transfer from Chelsea while Neymar and Mbappe were at Paris Saint-Germain.

And Salah was producing heroics for Liverpool, where he still remains.

Ronaldo addressed the comparisons between himself and Mbappe, too, as he insists it is difficult to compare players from different eras.

"It says a lot of people who look like me, has a lot of speed, finishes well, has great movements, hits excellent with both legs, has an incredible stride," he said.

"We have similar things, but I never liked comparisons, especially between players of different generations, because the situations are different."

Mbappe has since moved to Real and sports the same number (9) as Ronaldo following his spell with the Spanish giants.

And the Frenchman is enjoying a prolific debut campaign in Spain, having already bagged an impressive 30 goals across all competitions.

An impressive feat considering Ronaldo's best goal-scoring season at Real was 31 goals in the 2003/04 campaign.
