Red Bull are being heavily linked with another takeover deal, just hours after Jurgen Klopp signed a long-term contract with the company to become their new Head of Global Soccer.

It emerged on Wednesday that the former Liverpool manager will oversee Red Bull’s international network of football clubs, including Leeds and RB Leipzig, when he starts his role on January 1, 2025.

As well providing 'strategic vision' to the clubs associated with Red Bull, the 57-year-old will support the organisation’s global scouting operation, and contribute to the training and development of coaches.

“After almost 25 years on the sideline, I could not be more excited to get involved in a project like this,” Klopp said. “The role may have changed but my passion for football and the people who make the game what it is has not."

The German also expressed his desire to develop, improve and support the "incredible" football talent that Red Bull have at their disposal, which may include players from Ligue 2 side Paris FC.

Red Bull, along with French luxury goods company LVMH, want to 'shake up the landscape of French football' with the purchase of Ligue 2 leaders Paris FC, according to L'Equipe.

Pierre Ferracci, who is currently the majority shareholder of Paris FC, will keep 30 per cent of his shares until 2027, when he is reportedly expected to leave the Stade Charlety.

Red Bull, meanwhile, are expected to take a 15 per cent share in the club, while LVMH owners the Arnault family are set to become the new majority shareholder, purchasing around 55 to 56 per cent of shares.

It is said the short term goal will be promotion to Ligue 1 but long term, they want to establish themselves as Champions League regulars.

An extensive budget is also mentioned, with a sum between 100 and 200 million euros mentioned.

Speaking about his new role at Red Bull, Klopp expressed his excitement at the prospect of being part of the organisation.

“By joining Red Bull at a global level, I want to develop, improve and support the incredible football talent that we have at our disposal," he added.

"There are many ways that we can do this from using the elite knowledge and experience that Red Bull possesses to learning from other sports and other industries.

“Together we can discover what is possible. I see my role primarily as a mentor for the coaches and management of the Red Bull clubs but ultimately I am one part of an organisation that is unique, innovative and forward looking. As I said, this could not excite me more.”
