Rayan Aït-Nouri appeared to be involved in a heated exchanged with the Ipswich bench after a 2-1 defeat to Ipswich.

Wolves are 19th in the table after falling to a 2-1 defeat to likely relegation rivals Ipswich at Molineux, after a 94th minute winner for the Tractor Boys.

Gary O'Neil's men got off to a nightmare start, falling behind after 15 minutes due to a Matt Doherty own goal. Matheus Cunha levelled proceedings from the spot in the second half, only for Wolves to concede a devastating last minute goal from Jack Taylor.

Upon losing their fourth consecutive game, tempers flared as Wolves star Ait-Nouri needed to be held back by some of the club's coaching staff.

Images appear to show Ipswich's Wes Burns with his hand on Ait-Nouri's neck at full-time, after a 90 minutes that saw the pair clash on several occasions.

Team-mate Craig Dawson was seen restraining Ait-Nouri, before the wing-back was forced down the tunnel. The Algeria international is widely alleged to have reacted to comments made by a member of the Ipswich bench.

Meanwhile, Wolves's goalscorer Cunha also had to be held back as a large crowd of players and staff gathered at one edge of the pitch.

Ait-Nouri had already been suspended for Wolves' upcoming match against Leicester, having picked up his fifth yellow card of the season.

Other players allegedly aimed comments in the direction of supporters, while boos were heard ringing around the ground.

It's the second high-profile incident at Wolves this week, with Mario Lemina having on Friday been stripped of the club's captaincy following his clash with West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen after Monday's 2-1 defeat.

Lemina proceeded to push his own team-mates as they tried to calm in down, before squaring up to Wolves assistant coach Shaun Derry.

The midfielder was replaced by Nelson Semedo as captain, with Wolves boss O'Neil having confirmed the incident against West Ham led to a conversation around the captaincy.
