The 23-year-old Germany international arrived to partly fill the boots left by Alexander Isak after the Sweden striker's British record £125m transfer to Liverpool.

Woltemade started this afternoon's Premier League clash at St James' Park as Eddie Howe's side aimed to sign off for the upcoming international break with Premier League victory over Forest, who are currently winless in all competitions under new boss Ange Postecoglou.

The win has seen Newcastle move up to 11th in the top flight table prior to Brentford taking on Manchester City, while Forest are only a point and a place above the drop zone as pressure builds on Postecoglou.
