Kieran Trippier was spotted having a heated exchange with Newcastle United fans after their Premier League defeat against Bournemouth.

On Saturday evening, Newcastle were beaten 2-0 by Bournemouth after a brace from Dominic Solanke. This wrapped up an awful week for Eddie Howe's men after they were beaten 2-0 by German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday.

After the final whistle, Trippier was caught having a heated exchange with the travelling Newcastle fans. You can watch the footage below.

From the video, Trippier was heard saying: "Are the lads not giving anything? How many injuries have we got."

Eventually, Trippier's teammate Joelinton came over and dragged the Englishman away from the crowd.

Heading into the match, Newcastle were without a host of first-team players with as many as 11 senior players out through injury or suspension.

The likes of Callum Wilson, Alexander Isak, Harvey Barnes, Sven Botman and Dan Burn are currently injured whilst Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali are suspended.

Brazilian star Guimaraes will return for Newcastle’s next match against Chelsea after serving a one-match ban but Tonali will be out until August 2024 after being given a 10-month ban after an investigation into alleged illegal betting.

As a result of the mounting injury and suspension list, manager Howe was in a position to hand debuts to Lewis Miley and Ben Parkinson.

Speaking about the new boys' performances, Trippier told Premier League Productions: "Lewis and Ben have trained well. This is when they have to be ready as they are going to have opportunities. Good to have young lads coming through the club."

On the result, Trippier added: "I would not say it is a shock, Bournemouth are a good team you always respect the opposition and they played a good game today and we were not ourselves.

"We have to think about it over the international break and come back. Bournemouth had a good game plan and deserved to win the game."
