Alan Shearer certainly knows a thing or two about leading the line for Premier League giants Newcastle.
The England international scored 206 goals for the club during his time at St James’ Park, cementing himself as a legendary figure on Tyneside.
He also holds the record for the player with the most goals scored in the Premier League, with 260 between 1992 and his retirement in 2006.
These days the Magpies have a new No 9 in the form of Alexander Isak, and the Swedish striker is giving Shearer a run for his money.

The 25-year-old scored 27 goals and registered six assists in 42 appearances across all competitions as Eddie Howe’s side finished fifth in the Premier League table last term.
That was enough to see them qualify for the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League, and they also lifted the Carabao Cup.

However, that relationship could soon be over, with several reports claiming that the Newcastle striker has handed in a transfer request and is seeking to leave the club this summer.

Premier League champions Liverpool look set to launch a bid for Isak and could break the British transfer record if they are successful in signing him.
Some Newcastle fans may have been reassured that the striker would stay after Liverpool confirmed the signing of Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this week.
Ekitike had also been linked with Newcastle, but the Reds swooped in to bring the 23-year-old to Anfield in a deal worth around £79m.
Now in a shocking twist, Isak has been left out of Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia.

To make matters worse for fans of Howe’s side, Craig Hope of the Daily Mail is now reporting that Isak wants a move away from Newcastle.
The club confirmed that Isak would not be attending the pre-season tour in a post on their social media accounts, stating that he is suffering from a minor thigh injury.
"We will then travel to South Korea to face a K-League All-Star team and Tottenham Hotspur," read the post.

"Eddie Howe has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from, however Alexander Isak misses out with a minor thigh injury."
What has Alan Shearer said?
Newcastle icon Shearer made his feelings abundantly clear in the comments section on Instagram.
The 54-year-old responded with a flushed face emoji, which can be perceived to imply surprise or disbelief.

Now Shearer has fully addressed the situation in an interview with BetFair, and revealed his disappointment in how the situation has been handled by the club.
"It's ridiculous what Newcastle put out this morning to say he wasn't on the trip because of a slight thigh injury," he said.
"If they thought people wouldn't see through that… it was disappointing."
Shearer has previously spoken highly of the Swede.
“When you spend time with Alexander Isak, you can see how much he is loving life at Newcastle United and also understand why he keeps getting better and better as a player,” he told the BBC in January.
“I would say he is probably a manager's dream, in terms of his professionalism and lifestyle, because you never read about him, other than the headlines he makes for what he does on the pitch.”
