The Netherlands have acted early and officially confirmed their squad for Euro 2024 in Germany with four players being axed from the preliminary squad.

The Netherlands have been drawn in a tough group for the tournament, they sit alongside Poland, Austria and France in Group D.

Koeman’s side will kick off their campaign against Poland on June 16 at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg.

Three years ago, 'Oranje' suffered a shock 2-0 defeat against the Czech Republic at the round of 16 stage but they made it one step further.

Last week, Koeman named a 30-man provisional squad for the Euros.

After less than a week of training, Koeman has decided to act early and axe four players from the squad.

There is one Premier League star to be snubbed by Koeman, with Chelsea loanee Ian Maatsen who is currently at Borussia Dortmund missing out.

Maatsen is likely to be lining up at Wembley this weekend for the Champions League final, but there is no place for him at Euro 2024.

The other players to miss out are Nick Olij, Quinten Timber and Marten de Roon.

With a mix of both youth and experience, Koeman will be quietly confident his side will be able to cause a bit of a stir this summer.
