Mladen Zizovic, a manager from the top flight of Serbian football, made an official complaint about food just hours before his sudden death.

In shocking footage that has gone viral on social media, Radnicki 1923 manager Zizovic was seen suddenly collapsing during thge 22nd minute of Monday's Serbian SuperLiga clash with Mladost Lucani

Medical staff immediately attended to Zizovic and rushed the 44-year-old to hospital for further treatment.

Following a brief suspension to the match while the Mladost Lucani manager received aid, the match resumed for just 20 minutes before players were told that Zizovic had tragically passed away due to a suspected heart attack.

The news clearly left players from both sides completely devastated, with one of them now speaking out to reveal that Zizovic had complained about the fish he ate hours before collapsing.

After players and coaches in the match were told the tragic news, many could be seen falling to the ground in grief and shock before the match was officially abandoned by referee Jovan Segrt moments later.

Speaking about the incident during an interview with Bosnian outlet Faktor, Radnicki 1923 said: “I didn’t fall asleep until almost 3:30am. I have no words, we are stunned.

“I’m replaying the movie in my head. He was giving me instructions, turned around and at one point I saw that he was talking to the referee by the benches.

“Then he went towards our bench, turned to the others and said ‘I’m not feeling well, I’m not feeling well.’

“He fell, you saw everything else. In the video that appeared on social networks, you can also hear screams.

“They say he complained about the fish, said he wouldn’t eat it anymore. That’s what he was talking about. There were no problems during the warm-up, the game started, everything was ok.”

Zizovic had only been in charge of the Serbian club for less than two weeks having been appointed on October 23rd.

During this time, he led Radnicki 1923 to a win in the Serbian league and a loss in the domestic cup.

Cosic added: “We continued the game, hoping that the worst wouldn’t happen and that he would be with us again.

“We said that we were playing for him and that we wanted to reward him with a victory. We weren’t focused, we were in disbelief, but we didn’t want to disappoint him.

“We believed that he would come back and be with us again, and that we would celebrate the victory.”

The club's upcoming league clash with Cukaricki, and all training for the players and staff, has been postponed this week to allow them to grieve the loss.
