Xabi Alonso has already made his feelings clear on the Manchester United job amid his Real Madrid exit.
Alonso left his position as head coach of Real on Monday after just seven months in the role.
His departure comes just a day after the club's crushing defeat to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final.
He leaves with the Spanish giants trailing old rivals Barca by four points in the La Liga table.

Real are also seventh in the Champions League standings, having won four of their six games.
The 44-year-old, who joined Real from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer, has been replaced by Alvaro Arbeloa.
A club statement read: "Xabi Alonso will always have the affection and admiration of all Madrid fans because he is a Real Madrid legend and has always represented the values of our club. Real Madrid will always be his home.
"Our club thanks Alonso and his entire technical team for their work and dedication during this time, and wishes them the best of luck in this new stage of their lives."

It remains to be seen what job Alonso takes next following his Real departure, but a move to the Premier League seems to be on the cards given his time in England as a player.
He was strongly linked with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool before being appointed by Real.

Alonso has been viewed as a potential successor to Pep Guardiola at the Etihad and has also emerged as a Liverpool target amid Arne Slot's struggles this season.

What about Man United following Ruben Amorim's dismissal?

Well, Man United explored a move for Alonso in the summer of 2025 before ultimately sticking with Erik ten Hag.
But it appeared to be a non-starter because the Spaniard rejected the chance to take over at Old Trafford, according to The Daily Mail.

Of course, the landscape has now changed, with Man United looking for a permanent manager and Alonso out of work.
Man United are set to appoint an interim manager for the rest of the season, with Michael Carrick the favourite to land the gig.
They will then seek a permanent appointment next summer and with Alonso's availability, he could be an option.
