Sir Alex Ferguson hilariously walked away from a podcast and trolled two Manchester United legends.

Ferguson enjoyed an iconic managerial spell at Man United, winning an impressive 13 Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues.

He managed several big-name players, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.

Not to mention Rio Ferdinand and Michael Carrick, who both played under Ferguson during his storied Old Trafford career.

Ferdinand won six Premier League titles and the Champions League with Man United following his transfer from Leeds United. He turned to punditry and other business ventures, including his podcast, after calling time on his stellar career.

As for Carrick, he won a host of trophies, including the Champions League, before becoming a manager.

He managed Championship outfit Middlesbrough between October 2022 and June 2025 after being handed a position on Jose Mourinho's coaching staff during his Man United spell.

Carrick was sacked at the end of last season after two-and-a-half years in charge

He has since sat down with Ferdinand to talk about his managerial career and time at Man United.

And during the podcast, Ferguson interrupted the conversation.

Ferguson said: "What's this?!"

The Scot added: "I'm not doing this podcast," before joking: "I just want to listen to the nonsense you talk."

Five minutes after taking a seat next to Ferdinand and Carrick, his phone rang during their conversation on the podcast.

Ferdinand asked: "That's not the gaffer's phone?"

He added: "Go on it's fine... it's the gaffer, we've just got to get on with it."

On X, Ferdinand posted a clip of Ferguson interrupting the podcast, accompanied with the caption: "When the Boss (Sir Alex) walks in & interrupts your recording… wait till the end when his phone rings

"Even after 12 years, we still can’t find the courage to tell him off!! Rio Meets Michael Carrick."
