Qatari politician Sheikh Jassim has made a decision on launching a new bid for Manchester United nearly two years after losing out to Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
In November 2022, the Glazer family, who purchased a controlling stake in United in May 2005, announced that they would be willing to sell their shares in the club.
Reacting to the news, a Qatari group led by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani reportedly attempted to complete a massive £4.5billion takeover, but ultimately missed out to INEOS chief Ratcliffe.

After months of negotiations, the British businessman purchased minority share in the club for approximately £1.25 billion, but has since become relatively unpopular among fans due to his controversial cost-cutting measures and the club's continued decline.
With that in mind, a stake in United would perhaps be available for cheaper than ever, and yet a new report has revealed that Sheikh Jassim is no longer interested.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, there is little appetite among the Doha-based group to launch a new bid for United because of how the previous process with the Glazer family ended.

Add to this the fact that INEOS are reportedly eager to hold onto their shares in United due to the considerable amount of work that they have carried out since their arrival, and it's almost certain that the ownership situation at Old Trafford will remain the same for next season.
Off the back of what has been far their worst season in recent history, United share price is down more than 17% year on year.

Despite the introduction of Ruben Amorim as a replacement manager for Erik ten Hag back in November, United have fallen to 15th in the Premier League table, their worst finish since the competition was founded in 1992.

Meanwhile in Europe, the Red Devils missed out on a chance to secure Champions League football after losing in the Europa League final to English rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The poor season, and the ownership's recent decision to sack club staff, has led to a protest which is set to take place after today's season-ending fixture with Aston Villa.
