Ruben Amorim 'unconvinced' by Man Utd player after watching him this season and will sanction exit

Ruben Amorim is already said to be keen on sanctioning the departure of a Manchester United player.

Ruben Amorim is already unconvinced about a Manchester United player and is happy to allow him to leave, reports say.

Amorim, who won two league titles with Sporting CP, has signed a deal to become United's new boss on a contract until 2027 and will officially take the reins on November 11.

He led the Lisbon outfit to a stunning 4-1 win over United's rivals Manchester City on Tuesday in his final home game in charge and will sign off with a visit to former side Braga on Sunday.

United fans are very much excited after seeing the second half performance from Sporting, though Amorim was quick to admit that the playing style at Old Trafford will be very different.

“We cannot transport one reality to another," he said.

"United cannot play the way we play, they cannot be so defensive. Of course it’s good to beat City. But I’ll be living in a different world, we’ll have to start from a different point."

And though he hasn't yet met the players he will be working with, there is word that Amorim has already made up his mind on one star.

Calcio Mercato say that Amorim is not convinced by Joshua Zirkzee, who only signed from Bologna in the summer but has struggled to get going in English football.

Zirkzee signed a five-year contract after United agreed a fee of £34 million and the Netherlands international scored the winning goal against Fulham.

He's failed to score in 14 appearances since then and United fans have not been impressed by his sluggish displays up top.

It has been reported that Zirkzee turned up a stone overweight for pre-season and previous boss Erik ten Hag did not want to sign him.

Amorim appears to share a similar view and does not see a future for him in his system. A return to Serie A is an obvious destination for Zirkzee, with both Juventus and AC Milan interested in a potential loan deal.
