The Man United striker's debut was delayed to early September due to a back problem

Rasmus Hojlund is up and running on the goals front at Manchester United after his debut was delayed due to a back injury.

The 20-year-old Denmark international made the move to Old Trafford from Italian side Atalanta for an initial reported £64 million transfer fee as the biggest signing of the summer for Erik ten Hag's side after a lengthy search for a new striker.

Hojlund got his first goal for United in the midweek Champions League group stage thriller which the Reds lost 4-3 to Bayern Munich in the Allianz Arena.

The striker thought he had scored his maiden United goal in the loss to Brighton & Hove Albion too, only to see it chalked off by VAR after the ball had gone out of play before Marcus Rashford teed the Dane up.

It means that Hojlund is still awaiting his first goal at Old Trafford.

The striker was most recently in action for United in the Premier League victory over Burnley at Turf Moor, which Ten Hag's side won 1-0 thanks to a sublime volley on the stroke of half-time by captain Bruno Fernandes.

Hojlund is now fit enough to start games for United, having been out for about a month after signing due to a back injury, which delayed his debut until the 3-1 away loss to Arsenal at the start of September.

The forward played the entirety of the win against the Clarets, the first time he has completed a full 90 minutes for United since joining.

After the win, Hojlund gave his match shirt to one of the travelling fans in the United away contingent - and in doing so, showed how he is trying to avoid a recurrence of the injury which delayed his United debut.

The striker was seen wearing tape on his back, which is commonly used by athletes to help support muscles.

And there was also the unmistakable sign that Hojlund has been undergoing cupping therapy on his back after marks were left by the process.

The technique has been used since ancient times and is used to relieve pain by increasing blood flow to the affected area of the body.

It just goes to show how Hojlund to aiming to ensure he is in the best shape possible after his injury for his new club.
