Sir Alex Ferguson brought 121 players to Manchester United during his trophy-laden spell at Old Trafford but can you name his top 50 most expensive?

Not one of Manchester United's top 20 most expensive players was brought in by the legendary manager which shows the crazy inflation of fees in the world of football since the Scot departed.

Ferguson often opted to promote youth players, helping shape the legacy of the Class of 92'. As noted by Gary Neville, Ferguson was meticulous in his squad building, bringing in new players and phasing out older stars in a very controlled manner.

Winning 38 major trophies from 1986-2013, it's fair to say his transfer policy more than paid off.
