Manchester United have announced their squad for their pre-season tour in the United States, and there are some major absences.

Erik ten Hag's side will fly to Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon ahead of fixtures against Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool.

Summer signing Leny Yoro is included in the 29-man squad, following his £52 million arrival from Lille last week.

The 18-year-old defender made his United debut in a 2-0 friendly win against Rangers on Saturday.

Christian Eriksen, Tom Heaton, Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay are all involved after returning to training last week.

Experienced stars including Andre Onana, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, Casemiro, Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho will all be present.

However, Tyrell Malacia will stay at Carrington to continue his rehabilitation from injury under the guidance of medical staff.

Recent recruit Joshua Zirkzee is absent as he continues to take his summer break following his involvement at Euro 2024. Altay Bayindir, Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Lisandro Martinez, Facundo Pellistri and Luke Shaw are also on leave following their international exploits.

United will kick off their 2024 tour with a meeting with Premier League rivals Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, with kick-off set for 01:00 BST on Sunday.

After that Ten Hag's side will face Real Betis in San Diego before meeting arch-rivals Liverpool in South Carolina.

After returning to the UK, United will go head-to-head with cross-town rivals Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on August 10.

United will begin their 2024-25 Premier League campaign when they host Fulham at Old Trafford on Friday, August 16.
