Manchester United star Patrick Dorgu has formed a close friendship with one of his team-mates in the weeks after joining the club from Serie A side Lecce.

Dorgu signed for United from the Italian club for a reported fee of £25 million in January.

He is a natural left wing-back but can also play on the right, which is where he made his competitive debut for the club in the 2-1 FA Cup fourth round win over Leicester.

Dorgu was presented to the Old Trafford faithful before their 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace earlier this month, alongside fellow January signing Ayden Heaven.

The Denmark international is in line to make his Premier League debut when United host Tottenham, with fans hoping he will make an immediate impact.

At 20 years old, Dorgu is also a signing for the future - and he has already formed a close relationship with another of United's up-and-coming talents.

According to United Scout, he has created a 'companionship' with fellow new arrival Chido Obi, with the pair spotted with each other 'multiple times throughout the week'.

That will no doubt come as music to United fans' ears, with big things expected of Obi in the coming years after the 17-year-old joined the club from Premier League rivals Arsenal last year.

If they can convert their friendship into an on-pitch understanding, United could have two key positions locked down for a number of years to come once Obi breaks through into the first team regularly.

The Denmark-born forward, who is also eligible to represent England and Nigeria at senior international level, is one of five academy stars named in the first team travelling squad by manager Ruben Amorim for the trip to Spurs.

Harry Amass, Jack Moorhouse, Sekou Kone and Elyh Harrison have also made the trip as United deal with a number of injuries to first team players. While all five are part of the travelling squad, there is no guarantee that they will be included by Amorim on the final teamsheet.

Kobbie Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte and Amad are all absent for the fixture through injury - alongside the club's long-term absentees Lisandro Martinez, Mason Mount, Jonny Evans and Luke Shaw.

Reports from PA indicate concerns that Amad could miss the rest of the season due to ankle ligament damage.

Amad has been United's top scorer since Amorim arrived in November, with six goals in all competitions, and has been a crucial component to his tactical system.
