Turkish media have made their feelings clear on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just less than a month after he took the Besiktas job.

After being sacked by Manchester United in 2021, Solskjaer spent more than three years away from management before returning to the dug-out with Besiktas in January.

The Norwegian had previously turned down a number of offers to get back into coaching but penned a one-and-a-half year contract with Besiktas, replacing Giovanni van Bronckhorst after he was given the boot following a poor run of results.

Early into his tenure in Turkey, Solskjaer dismantled the club's current set-up with some home truths about the structure and the changes needed to be made.

Yet the team have been performing well, with Solskjaer picking up four wins, one draw and one loss from six games so far.

Their only defeat was a Europa League loss to FC Twente and a 2-1 comeback win over Trabzonspor moved them up to fifth in the Turkish Super Lig, two points behind fourth-placed Eyupspor after playing a game less.

The Turkish media were impressed by Solskjaer's substitutions in the win, with Fotomac saying he "made very appropriate moves".

Hurriyet, meanwhile, waxed lyrical about the "very clear" impact that Solskjaer has had on the team, stating: "It is very clear: Besiktas has regained team spirit with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The body language of the players, their desire to win and the struggle they put forth are the keys to consecutive victories."

The praise continued with internet personality and Besiktas fan Ali Ece, who hailed the job Solskjaer is doing with the Istanbul outfit.

He said: "Coach Solskjaer turned the game around against Şenol Güneş, who made Beşiktaş champions twice in a row and got the respect he deserved from the stands. This was Besiktas' biggest problem during the Giovanni van Bronckhorst era. It was important for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to show reflexes with the squad he had and integrate with the team."

Besiktas have a huge clash on Friday evening when they travel to Eyupspor as fourth meets fifth. A victory for Solskjaer's men will see them climb above their opponents, while having a game in hand.
