Man Utd fans have finally had enough after Leeds draw as three players singled out

Manchester United have failed to secure a win in the Premier League for the sixth time in seven matches under Michael Carrick this season.

It was not a vintage performance from the Red Devils against Leeds at Elland Road, as the Yorkshire club looked the better side for the majority of the match.

Failure to secure three points against their rivals has angered fans online, and they have expressed their frustration at three players; however, it was at Carrick's tactics rather than the individuals themselves.

Manchester United fans question Michael Carrick after Leeds draw

Carrick has struggled as manager of Man United this season, as they have only secured two wins across their opening 10 games in all competitions.

This latest failure to secure a win has fans frustrated, as they watch the club’s hopes of winning the Premier League title disappear, and now Champions League qualification for next season is being questioned under his guidance.

Leeds boss Daniel Farke appeared to outmanoeuvre the former England international in the clash, meaning the German maintained his unbeaten managerial record against Carrick.

As United struggled and suffered injuries throughout the game, the key one being suffered by Lisandro Martinez, who was withdrawn at halftime.

Carrick brought on Noussair Mazraoui to replace the World Cup winner; however, strangely, he operated in centre back, while Leny Yoro, a player who is natural in the middle of defence, remained at right back.

Mazraoui can also operate at left-back, something online fans found strange, as Diogo Dalot was being played out of his natural position on this side when he is more comfortable on the right.

It led to fans questioning the in-game management of Carrick, and has now led to several calling for the club legend to be given his P45. While there was also confusion about his decision to start four central midfielders from the start, nullifying their threat from wide positions.

The reason is that they believe that he is out of his depth despite having an incredible campaign last season, as he guided the club to a third-place finish, earning Champions League qualification while in interim charge.

There will be much speculation about who could replace Carrick as the pressure continues to mount, particularly after fans let their feelings known on social media.

One said: "Carrick so clueless, why did Yoro not return as CB, Dalot RB and Mazaroui LB."

Another agreed with the sentiment as they wrote: "What is carrick genuinely doing . Yoro at rb mazroui at cb dalot at lb . We need a goal he brings in mount when Rashford and Cunha are sitting on the bench . He’s out of his depth."

While one United fan said: "Can someone explain the genius behind playing Yoro at RB, Dalot at LB, and Mazraoui at CB?"

Potential managerial replacements for Carrick

As Carrick continues to struggle as the permanent manager of Man United it has opened the conversation about who could replace him at the helm.

Several fans on X, formerly Twitter, have suggested after another disappointing result, this time against Leeds, the Red Devils should appoint Antonio Conte.

It would mean that he would return to England for his third spell as a Premier League manager, having been in charge of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur previously.

Another option that has been mentioned is former Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe, due to his incredible work in getting the club into the Champions League.

There could be calls for the former Man United coach Kieran McKenna to be given the role after his work at Ipswich Town.
