A Manchester United star has been dealt yet another injury blow.

Man United were ravaged by injuries last season, and so far this season the trend looks to be continuing.

Defender Luke Shaw missed much of last season through injury and is currently sidelined until late next month at least.

Summer signing Leny Yoro suffered a metatarsal injury in just his second outing for the club during their pre-season tour of the USA and will be out of action for another three months.

Now, Mason Mount has suffered another injury just two games into the new Premier League campaign.

The English midfielder started both United's win against Fulham and defeat to Brighton, but he has now picked up a hamstring injury that will keep him sidelined for the next four to five weeks.

The 25-year-old published the following statement on Instagram: "During the last game I picked up a minor muscle issue. I've had it checked and it looks like I'll be out for a few games.

"Leading up to and during pre-season I worked hard to get my fitness back to where it needs to be and I felt reenergised, sharp and ready.

"I wanted you to hear it directly from me how frustrated I am, as I expect you are too. I will do everything possible to be back in the best shape and help the team."

Mount featured in just 14 Premier League games last season following a £55 million move from Chelsea.

Erik ten Hag will not be able to call upon Mount for United's clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday, and he will likely miss Premier League games against Southampton, Crystal Palace and Tottenham next month.
