Manchester United fans have referenced Jadon Sancho after Marcus Rashford 'partied' in a nightclub after their defeat to Manchester City.

Rashford attended Chinawhite in Manchester city centre just hours before he was due to report for training on Monday morning.

According to The Telegraph, the star forward was out 'until some time past midnight' for a birthday celebration that had been organised prior to Man United's crushing 3-0 defeat to Man City, with Roy Keane and Jamie Carragher raising concerns over the player before kick-off.

The England international, who turns 26 on Tuesday, reported on time for training this morning, with his celebrations angering some Man United fans on social media.

They made a point about Sancho as they compared the out-of-favour winger to Rashford.

One X user wrote: "Meanwhile, it's apparently Ronaldo and Sancho that disrespected the club. Hope this helps."

A second tweeted: "Imagine if this was Ronaldo or Sancho. But he's Manchester born and bred so he will get the pass."

A third added: "Imagine if this was Sancho..."

Another commented: "If it was Sancho..."

It's unclear what Erik ten Hag thinks of Rashford's decision to party after Man United's defeat. The Dutch boss has strict disciplinary standards and the incident comes at a time when both the player and club are struggling on the pitch.

After scoring an impressive 30 goals in all competitions last season, he has just one goal to his name this campaign.

Man United sit in ninth place, having already lost five league games this season.

As for Sancho, he remains banished from the first-team after refusing to apologise to Ten Hag.

He's been linked with a move away ahead of the transfer window reopening in January.
