Amad Diallo suffers injury blow for Manchester United ahead of Wrexham clash

An injury blow for Man Utd.

Manchester United forward Amad Diallo has been pictured on crutches ahead of his side's friendly against Wrexham.

United take on the newly-promoted League Two side in the United States on Wednesday at 3:30am UK time, with the fixture representing a second test of the tour for Erik ten Hag's side.

They defeated Arsenal 2-0 at the MetLife Stadium on Saturday, also emerging triumphant in the penalty shootout that subsequently followed.

And a 1-0 win over Lyon at Murrayfield that preceded the win means that United are yet to concede a goal in normal time during their pre-season tour.

They have also given opportunities to younger players, with Kobbie Mainoo, Alvaro Fernandez and Dan Gore among those that have impressed so far.

Amad is another player to have received game time, after he returned from a successful loan spell at Championship side Sunderland last season.

The Ivorian's immediate future at United has been uncertain, but his inclusion in the travelling squad to the States suggest he will stay at Old Trafford for the short-term.

But he may play no further part in pre-season, with his participation in the subsequent friendly against Real Madrid also potentially in doubt.

Amad spotted on crutches ahead of Man Utd friendly

After the win over Arsenal, Amad was filmed holding a pair of crutches as he boarded a modified golf cart inside the MetLife Stadium.

He appeared to be seated alongside a member of United's medical staff, with the cart then driving the pair away out of view.

Amad was brought on to the pitch at half-time as Ten Hag made a raft of changes to his ranks, but lasted only 13 minutes before he was replaced by Facundo Pellistri.

The injury appeared to be fairly innocuous, with the forward attempting to block a cross before signalling to the bench that his evening was over.

Fortunately for United, however, the Ivorian reassured fans after the game that his injury was not serious.

Taking to Instagram, he wrote: "I feared the worst, ALHAMDOULILAH nothing serious. Back soon Inch'ALLAH."
