Forgotten Man Utd player linked with exit returns to training and fans are convinced Ruben Amorim will love him

Amorim has welcomed another player back to training at Carrington.

A forgotten Manchester United player has returned to training this week and fans are convinced he will have a big part to play under Ruben Amorim.

United are in 13th place in the Premier League table and have won two of their last five matches in all competitions under their new manager.

Amorim has already used 20 players in opting for a rotational policy during his early weeks in charge, with players each given opportunities to improve.

The likes of Leny Yoro, Mason Mount and Tyrell Malacia have all returned from injury and been re-integrated into the squad by the Portuguese boss - but it is another player who has just made his comeback to training which may excite Amorim the most.

Midfielder Toby Collyer, who has been out since October through injury, is nearing a return to action.

The 20-year-old has previously produced 'freakish' running stats in training, and is said to have impressed United coaching staff.

He was handed his first team debut by Erik ten Hag last season and has made three appearances this term.

Collyer featured at left-back during United's 7-0 win over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup, proving his versatility.

The Sun claimed last week that Ruud van Nistelrooy is planning to make a loan offer for the midfielder, with the new Leicester boss having worked with Collyer closely during his time as assistant head coach at Old Trafford.

United are said to have no interest in selling the midfielder, but may be open to a loan move - if Amorim doesn't decide to give him a shot in the first team.

United are next in action on Thursday when they take on Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League, before taking on Manchester City in the Manchester derby and then Tottenham in the Carabao Cup to complete a run of three away games in seven days.
