Manchester United players once had their restaurant orders 'leaked' online during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's time in charge - and some of their choices might surprise you.

Nowadays, all Premier League clubs employ a host of high calibre staff in the catering department, alongside nutritionists and sports psychologists for players.

Most top stars even have their own personal chefs to ensure they are in the best possible condition before every game.

Just ask Cristiano Ronaldo, who was reportedly attempting to hire a personal chef for his 'forever home' earlier this year, according to the Daily Mail.

And while it may have been a poor season to date for Erik ten Hag's United, one thing they can always control is the players' nutritional benefits.

While we don't often get access to what most players are actually eating - although some do give an insight from time to time - a list of apparent restaurant orders from United players were 'leaked' online by a United fan account back in 2021.

Solskjaer's side were on a pre-season training camp at St Andrew's University in Scotland, and stopped off for something to eat at Forgan's restaurant in Dundee before their return to England.

You can see what the United squad - 12 of them are still contracted to the club today - chose below.

When it came to starters, David de Gea, Luke Shaw, Lee Grant and Anthony Martial all chose normal bread (we're not sure if butter was provided).

There was a mixture of chicken tempura, goats cheese and no starter at all from the rest of the squad - apart from captain Harry Maguire, who ordered a ham hock.

We then see a range of main course orders, with Phil Jones showing his love for chicken by ordering a chicken supreme to eat after his chicken tempura.

Jesse Lingard ordered a cheeseburger with a twist, asking for simply cheese with nothing else on it. Shaw, Grant, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Dan James all went for more traditional cheeseburger options.

Maguire led a series of players who opted for a chicken supreme, while Tom Heaton was the only squad member who went for a BBQ rib of beef.

Martial, meanwhile, chose spinach as his side, with most other players going for assorted covered fries or mash potato.

Most of the squad also ordered dessert, with Heaton, James Garner and Matej Kovar all opting for the brilliantly-sounding Caramel and Biscoff Tartlet.

Juan Mata and Andreas Pereira went for a simple cheesecake, while Maguire, Jones, Lingard and Bruno Fernandes all had a sticky toffee pudding.

All in all, it sounds like some meal.
