Manchester United staff are visibly' despairing' at player during Crystal Palace game

The United staff aren't happy.

Manchester United staff are 'despairing' at one player during their game against Crystal Palace, it has been claimed.

The Red Devils are currently 1-0 down to Roy Hodgson's side after Joachim Andersen scored an absolute screamer which was simply too powerful for Andre Onana in goal.

Erik ten Hag still has time on his side, and will hope his players can dig deep and come back from behind to take all three points at Old Trafford.

United got the better of Palace just days ago in the Carabao Cup, when they won 3-0 courtesy of goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Casemiro and Anthony Martial.

However, United staff aren't happy with Marcus Rashford's performance this afternoon.

That's according to Manchester Evening News reporter Samuel Luckhurst, who stated that staff are "despairing at Rashford's use of the ball" during his live match-blog.

Rashford came under fire for something similar during United's 3-1 defeat to Brighton earlier this month. The 25-year-old beat his man down the left-hand flank, but wastefully shanked an effort into the side netting, when he had Rasmus Hojlund in acres of space in the six-yard box.

Rashford recently revealed that he had been working on his relationship with Hojlund, however, claiming that they had been taking part in secret training sessions together.

Speaking on their newly-established strike partnership, Rashford told MUTV: "I'm honestly super excited about it."

"At times last year when we were going on counter-attacks and stuff, when you looked up, you just saw shirts of the other bodies! And usually only the cutback was on to Bruno [Fernandes], who was usually arriving later. Whereas this year, you have to understand the dynamics have changed.

"So we've spoken to each other, we've done a lot of work off the pitch, probably that the coaching staff don't even know [about] because it's just between me and him. But I just want to understand his game and he wants to understand my game as quickly as possible.

"So far I think it's been good. We obviously had the unlucky one against Brighton that got disallowed, but then in the following game we get another one where we've combined for a goal. So I'm very happy for him. And I'm sure it's a relationship that will help both players.

"I'm excited for him, excited for the future. And I'm just excited that we've got so many games coming up because we've got so many opportunities to show who we are and if we hopefully we do get the next win, we've got another game a few days later and we can get another one and we can start to build momentum."
