Mason Greenwood is continuing to wear Nike boots despite being dropped by the brand.

Greenwood is currently on loan at Getafe from Manchester United after sealing a deadline day move back in September.

The 22-year-old has made 18 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals.

Greenwood has been training and playing in Nike boots even though he no longer has a contract with them.

Nike suspended their association with the England international after he was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The charges were subsequently dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023 following the withdrawal of witnesses and new material coming to light.

However, Nike confirmed their association with Greenwood had ended.

"The statement still holds true. Mason Greenwood is no longer a Nike athlete," a spokesperson told GBNews.

Greenwood has not signed a boot deal with another company and was seen sporting old Nike boots as he does not receive any new supplies.

The Nike Mercurial Superfly 4 boots from 2016 are just one of many editions he has worn in games in Spain but more recently, Footy Headlines have spotted him in a custom pair of Nike Phantom GX 2 cleats.

The boots, which are all black with a colourful swoosh and gradient, have been designed by Lorenz.OG and were expected to be wore by Marcus Rashford and Erling Haaland.

It could be that Greenwood is purchasing the boots himself as he no longer has access to the "secret" Nike website where athletes are able to order merchandise.

Back in November, Greenwood's Instagram post raised questions as he showed off his Nike shoe collection.

Greenwood's haul featured a pair of £9,000 platinum Cactus Plant Flea Market Pure Platinum Nike Dunk Lows - covered in Swarovski crystals while also flexing a pair of Desert Moss trainers, which cost more than £2,000.
