Mark Goldbridge hits back at Man Utd player for saying he doesn't actually support the club

Paul Parker, who played for Manchester United between 1991 and 1996, believes Goldbridge is a "problem".

Mark Goldbridge has hit back at Paul Parker after the former Manchester United defender called him a Nottingham Forest fan who has "no inner feeling with the club".

Earlier this week, Parker ripped into YouTube personality Goldbridge for "attacking" Erik ten Hag and his squad on his social media channels.

"I don't like what Mark Goldbridge is doing," he told Bonus Code Bets. "It's a problem. Everyone has to make a living but you have to be very, very thick skinned to make money off the back of something you don't like.

“He has no relationship to Manchester United, he is a Nottingham Forest fan. It’s an incredible skill to do that, actually... To make money on the back of something you don’t like.

"He is attacking the club, the manager and the owners of a football club that you don't even love. He has no inner feeling with the club and it's a scary but incredible feeling to have to be that invested in a club that you don't support.

"But that's also what Man United are about. It's a club with a massive story and it's a story that everyone tries to tap into and be a part of. A lot of people are making money because of Man United but it's madness. One, they don't support Man United and to be honest, two, they don't even like football.

"But it's a club that everyone wants to talk about and somehow it's possible to make money from it despite not having a relationship to the club."

Goldbridge has since issued a response to Parker, who played for Manchester United between 1991 and 1996.

"I've had so many people this week contact me about this article that Paul Parker did with some company, saying that I'm one of the biggest problems at Manchester United, that I don't even support the club, that I'm a Nottingham Forest fan," he told talkSPORT.

"I find it really disappointing, because I've done content with Paul in the past and I actually liked him when he played for England and Manchester United, I've met him.

"I just feel that these sort of comments are really sad and ill-advised because one, they're not true, and when you're saying things that are not true about people, you've got to be very, very careful what you're doing.

"Secondly, Manchester United are going through one of the biggest things in their history, recent history, Premier League history, since 2005, we were about to get purchased by somebody.

"There are numerous big topics to discuss about that. And apparently I, as a YouTube influencer or whatever he called me, is a big problem.

"I want a full sale, I want the Glazers out, I fully back this manager, I think there are certain players that need to be sold who are holding the club back."

He added: "If that's what Paul Parker thinks is a problem, then I think Paul Parker is a problem."
