Manchester United have made JJ Gabriel an official scholarship offer in a bid to convince the teenager to reconsider his exit plan amid interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
The 16-year-old and his representatives have informed United officials of his ambition to leave the club, with a lack of first-team minutes being a major contributor to the much-talked-about decision.
It is believed the so-called 'decline of United since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson' is also a driving force behind the move, with a report from the Daily Mail suggesting Gabriel is keen to 'learn from the best' to maximise his talents.

If the teenager does decide to leave, there are plenty of clubs waiting in the wings. Bayern Munich have held talks with his representatives, according to Sky Sport Germany, although no concrete offer has yet been made.
Bayern are closely monitoring the situation but face competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona. So, how much would they have to pay?
The report suggests a 'considerable' financial outlay would be required to sign Gabriel, with a total package - including the transfer fee, bonuses and other payments - being 'well over' €10-15 million.

According to FIFA compensation figures for a Category I academy player, United would receive around £350,000 if he moves abroad, as per The Guardian.
Barcelona sporting director Deco made some interesting comments on JJ Gabriel
Despite being heavily linked with a move for Gabriel, Barcelona sporting director Deco played down the club's interest.
Speaking to journalist Ben Jacobs, he said: "There's nothing to say about this boy. It's normal we always have players linked with us. There's a huge market for that, even when they [players] are young.
"We are not interested in any player in his situation. I am not sure what's happening, and if he's still a Manchester United player. We are not involved in that."
Deco added: "First of all, we need to understand how the situation is before we try to do something. And to speak about young, teenage players, it is not our business."
