Man Utd fans sent into meltdown after seeing Brighton's post on Carlos Baleba before major transfer update

Brighton's post on social media certainly caught the attention of Manchester United supporters.

Manchester United fans have been sent into a meltdown after seeing the video Brighton posted ahead of their first game of the season.

United have made four signings as part of their summer rebuild but are keen to bring in a new midfielder, with Brighton's Carlos Baleba a top target.

Earlier this month it emerged that United had made contact with Brighton regarding the availability of Baleba, with it quickly becoming apparent that a record-breaking fee would be required to sign the Cameroonian.

But while other players have been involved in sagas when interest from elsewhere has come to light, Baleba's head has not been turned.

He trained with Brighton as normal on Friday morning ahead of their first Premier League game of the season against Fulham and the Seagulls started their training footage with the 21-year-old dancing and in fine spirits as he made his way out to the pitch.

Baleba also said "see you tomorrow" and was not acting like a man who is desperate to leave Brighton for United.

One fan on X wrote: I absolutely respect this."

A second said: "Brighton is using our clout to rub Baleba in our face."

A third added: "I DONT LIKE HOW HAPPY HE IS."

A fourth responded, commenting: "They’re baiting so many United fans with that first clip haha."

Sky Sports journalist Chris Nightingale said Baleba is "not leaving and is happy here" and that stance was relayed by Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler, who is adamant that nothing has changed with the former Lille man and he is in contention to making his starting eleven.

Asked how confident he is that Baleba will stay put in a press conference, Hurzeler said: "Very, very confident. I didn't see any change, he only changed his hair! That is the only change I think he made in two weeks. He is enjoying being a Brighton player and is very grateful to have the process he had in the last season.

"I didn't see any change and he's an option to start tomorrow."

Journalist's major update on Carlos Baleba

United In Focus, via transfer insider Graeme Bailey, had reported that the Red Devils were prepared to test Brighton's resolve with a club-record offer for Baleba.

However, on Friday afternoon Alex Crook of talkSPORT provided a major update, stating that United are ready to end their pursuit of Baleba and accept he is not for sale this summer.

They look set to admit defeat unless any encouragement is given from the South Coast outfit, who believe Baleba will be worth the same as record departure Moises Caicedo in a year's time.

David Ornstein of The Athletic followed up with a report of his own where he said United had been priced out and were not planning to progress with a move.
