Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund's dad may have revealed where his son will be playing next season.

With new signings Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko joining Manchester United this summer, the future of current striker Hojlund has been called in question.

The Danish international joined the Red Devils from Serie A club Atalanta back in August 2023 for a reported fee of £72million, but has failed to make his mark at the club.

In 32 Premier League appearances last season, Hojlund scored just four goals, leading to rumours that he could be set to leave United before the transfer window closes on September 1.

Several clubs across Europe have been linked with a move for the 22-year-old, but it now appears we may know exactly where he is heading thanks to his dad.

United securing the signing of Sesko, who excited fans talking after completing his first training session for his new side, all but confirms that Hojlund's minutes this season will be seriously reduced if he stays at United.

Therefore, it has been reported that both United and Hojlund are open to a move away from the club this summer, with Serie A giants AC Milan believed to be the favourites to secure his signature.

According to a report from Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, officials from Milan reached out to Hojlund and his team about a move and received encouragement from that the Dane's father, Anders.

Anders reportedly told AC Milan's entourage that Hojlund is eager to play for one of the world's most successful clubs and work under with a highly successful manager in Massimiliano Allegri.

And it appears that his feeling is mutual, as the report claims that Allegri has placed Hojlund and out-of-favour Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic at the top og his transfer list as he looks for a striker to partner Santiago Gimenez.

However, before a move can be finalised, United and Milan need to agree on a transfer fee for Hojlund, something which so far has reportedly proved difficult with their valuations for the Dane currently differing by around €10million (£8.6m)

Rasmus Hojlund speaks out on the arrival of Benjamin Sesko

Despite reports claiming that Hojlund is ready to leave United in the search for more regular minutes following the signing of Sesko, his comments in pre-season suggested he would prefer to stay and fight for his place.

The Danish striker made a case that he should keep his starting up front after he opened the scoring in United's 4-1 pre-season friendly win over Bournemouth in Chicago.

"The most important [thing] for me is just to keep working hard and stay focused and then obviously we'll see what happens," Hojlund told reporters post-match.

"My plan is very clear and it's for me to stay and fight for my spot whatever happens."
